Matthew Middleton has been hustling before hustling was cool, when at the tender age of 12 he began delivering ice for Chilly Willy’s and Cool Carl’s around New York City. Matt never lost the love of the hustle, as he built and ran both a laundry service and night club promotional business while at Johnson & Wales. When he was not hustling, he was studying finance. Yes, you read that correctly: Matt studied finance at one of the nation’s best cooking schools. After graduation, Matt led business development and growth strategy efforts for some of the most well-known advisor-focused media and conference brands in the U.S. His true passion led him to co-found Advisor Circle, where he believes everyone should have access to quality financial advice. He is excited to leverage technology and social media to help advisors amplify their voices to grow their business and help investors be better invested. When not in the office, Matt enjoys being outside with his wife and son, hiking, biking and playing sports.

John Swolfs was born and raised in Westchester (but now considers himself a Californian after a decade in San Francisco), where he played soccer for the Somers Express as a left-winger. He attended the University of Albany, majoring in history and education. John eventually started his career in the front office of the Port St. Lucie Mets, working in the ticket office and as the game day mascot. After nearly 15 years in the ETF industry in a variety of roles, John left to co-found Advisor Circle, where he spends his time building and developing programs and platforms to help today’s outspoken financial advisors share their voices and views. When he’s not cooking or out skiing, John enjoys rooting for struggling sports franchises like the NY Jets and Tottenham Hotspurs.
Matt Hougan comes from a colorful background, having started work at the age of 12 as a soccer referee (no, he never reffed one of John’s games). With the money he earned, Matt purchased his dream ride: a white Lincoln Town car, ultimately inspiring those Matthew McConaughey commercials. He racked up the miles cruising the nation’s capital before heading off to Bowdoin College to study philosophy and write the next great American novel. Matt left the cold winters and adventure of being a sea kayak tour guide in Bar Harbor, Maine for the sunshine of Berkeley, where he built an ETF media empire at ETF.com. When Matt is not serving as the CIO of a large crypto asset manager, he is dedicated to building a platform that will amplify the voices of financial advisors, the cornerstone of investor education. On the weekends, Matt can be found fumbling around with a guitar, much to the dismay of his wife, three children and the family dog.
